YOUR FIRST MASSAGE

I promise to make your first massage pleasurable at all times whether you are seeking pain relief, relaxation/ stress reduction or have general health concerns.

Before Your Massage

Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment time. When you arrive, you will be greeted and asked to fill out a health history form. This form is where you record your contact information, past/present injuries and other physical conditions i should be made aware of. When you’re ready I will greet you and show you to my private treatment room. There I will review the intake form with you. I will inquire about the reasons you are coming in for a massage, your current physical condition and any specific areas in which you are experiencing pain or would like to address during your massage. This will help determine the type of massage that best fits your needs. You will notice that the room has a comfortable massage table with a warm blanket and crisp clean sheets. When it’s time, I will wait outside while you disrobe to your comfort level. Some clients prefer to completely disrobe, while some will remain partially clothed. Either option is perfectly fine! (Remember to remove all jewelry) Once disrobed, you will lie on the massage table, under the top sheet and blanket. I will knock on the door before entering the room.

During Your Massage

You will always be draped with the sheet during your massage session. I will only uncover the part of the body I am working on, ensuring that your modesty is respected at all times. For most techniques, i will use lotion or cream. If you have any allergies to nuts or oils, please let me know.

I strive to provide a relaxing and therapeutic experience during your massage. The massage table is padded and a heating blanket is placed beneath the sheet, which you can have adjusted to your preference. There is usually soft music and dim lighting to enhance the relaxing experience. An additional blanket or pillows are available at your request. Communicate with me about anything that is uncomfortable: such as too much pressure, pain, cold room, table heater too warm, etc. Do not feel obligated to carry on a conversation while getting a massage – you are free to talk or not.

After Your Massage

At the end of the session, i will leave the room. Take your time getting up from the table! Take a few moments to just continue to relax, maybe a leisurely stretch or two, and prepare yourself to join the world again. When ready, you can get dressed.

When it comes time to pay, many people wonder about tipping; It is not expected.

BUT! remembering to drink plenty of water is!

Also, Refrain from vigorous exercise for 24 hours, unless your massage is designed for a pre-determined sporting event. Slow stretching though is always helpful in maintaining the increased flexibility that you will experience after your massage.

Some people may be a little sore after their massage, especially if it is your first massage, or it has been a while since your last one. The soreness is similar to exercise soreness and will usually subside in a day or two. Once you experience the increase in physical and mental relaxation, reduced muscular pain and improved ease of movement you will be compelled to make massage a wonderful addition to your personal health routine!

Be bold in your pursuit to be Happy, Healthy, and YOU!
